Online Bible Study 6: Work of the Holy Spirit in Our Lives

Have you ever looked in the mirror and saw a temple of the Most High God? Every Christian is a temple for God's Holy Spirit and we have evidence of that in-dwelling by the fruit of the spirit. Jesus came and breathed His Spirit upon the disciples after His death and resurrection.

The day of Pentecost brought with it power for the mighty works Jesus called us to through His act of love on the Cross. Our prayer for each of you this week, is for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit to your lives; we pray for a fresh breath from our wonderful Lord and a fresh mantle upon you Hallelujah!

  1. Oh I loved this! Thank you! I hadn't ever heard this subject taught like that - as how the gifts are allocated by the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. That makes so much sense. I will be listening to this one again and studying it out! Thank you, Brother Harold!

  2. Lynda,

These have been some of my favorite studies (on the Holy Spirit's work in our lives and on the gifts). I also was excited the first time I heard Harold teach on the three gruops of gifts. It makes so much sense and it explains a lot of things that seem confusing otherwise.

For example, it explains why Paul says "Now I wish that you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy" (I. Cor. 14:5), but in other places he says "All are not prophets , are they?" (I Cor. 12:29). It makes sense when you realize that though all of us can prophesy, we are due not all have the ministry gift of prophet. I had never heard teaching on the gifts so clearly or so completely before and I was trilled to see how it all fit together.

  3. This is such good stuff. I wonder if the indwelling Holy Spirit the disciples received in John 20 felt similar or different than the coming upon of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2? Learning to recognize and discern the indwelling presence as different in feeling and purpose than the external coming upon presence? In me for me, on me for you? Whatya reckon?
